Review: Golden Rose Magnetic Collection

Hi guys, what's up? =) Today I have a quick review for you. Golden Rose came out with 10 different magnetic polishes, and they are gorgeous. I really like the quality and the wide selection.

I bought 8 of 10 polishes. The ones I left behind were very similar to the taupe and the rosy red and I felt no need to get them. Since my torn nail has not grown out yet, I only did skittle swatches instead of full.

#03 is a dark purple, #02 is slate blue and #01 is lilac.

#08 is a rosy red, #06 is gunmetal gray and #04 is emerald green.

#10 is taupe and #09 is a very dark blue green.
My absolute favorites are #03, #04, #06, #08 and #09. Actually I love them all. They all look excellent once the magnet is applied.
Each box contains a striped magnet. The magnet is pretty strong and very easy to use. The closer you hold it after application the stronger your pattern will be.

You have to hold the magnet to your nail immediately after application, that means you have to do your nails one by one. After application I held the magnet above my nail for a couple of seconds, and that was enough for a strong pattern to show up.
Golden Rose Magnetic Polishes retail here for about $3.50, and I don't know if they will be available internationally. If you never tried a magnetic polish before, this line has great variety, works excellently and is pretty inexpensive.

Her kutuda çizgili desen oluşturan mıknatıslardan var. Mıknatıs oldukça güçlü, üstelik ne kadar yakın tutarsanız desen de o kadar belirgin oluyor.
Uygulamayı merak ediyorsanız, her tırnağınıza ojeyi sürer sürmez mıknatıs tutuyorsunuz. Mıknatısı tırnak yüzeyinin birkaç milimetre yukarısında tutmanız gerekiyor. Tırnağınıza değdirmeyin, yoksa oje bozulur. Ben her tırnağıma oje sürdükten sonra mıknatısı birkaç saniye boyunca tırnak yüzeyime yaklaştırıp bekletiyorum. Zaten başka da bir şeye gerek kalmıyor, ortaya çıkan desen gayet belirgin oluyor.

Review: Golden Rose Graffiti Nail Art Metallic Colors

Last week I discovered new Graffiti Nail Art polishes by Golden Rose, in metallic finishes. I believe there were six of them, but I only got four, leaving the gold and silver ones behind. They lacked the depth and uniqueness and I knew I would not use them, especially the gold one.
Here are the ones I got:

L-R: #12, #10, #11, #09

First up is #12. Rich reddish brown crackle with lots of gold sparkle. It's perfect for fall. Below you can see it over Essence You're The One.

Then there is #10, warm pink metallic crackle. It's my favorite of the bunch. It looks awesome over black, burgundy, orange and lime green. Here you can see it over Flor Mar Supershine U30.

#11 reminded me of Zoya Faye, it's a warm lilac crackle with lots of gold sparkle. It looks so delicate on colors like red, purple and black. The lilac doesn't show through much, and the gold sparkle looks like gold leaves. Here I applied it over Pastel #309.

Last but not least, there is #09, metallic blue crakcle. It's not very unique, but I wanted to try it anyway. It can be seen over Flor Mar #431.

Geçtiğimiz hafta Golden Rose Graffiti Nail Art çatlayan ojelerinin metalik renklerini keşfettim. Sanırım 6 yeni renk vardı, ben 4 tanesini aldım, altın ve gümüş rengi olanları bıraktım. Aldıklarım #12, #10, #11 ve #09.
İlk denediğim #12 oldu. kırmızıya çalan bir kahverengi, sonbahar için ideal. İçinde bol miktarda altın ışıltı var. Resimde Essence You're The One üzerine uygulanmış halini görebilirsiniz.
Daha sonra #10'u denedim, sıcak tonlu, metalik bir pembe. En çok beğendiğim bu oldu. Siyah, bordo, turuncu, yeşil gibi renklerin üzerine sürdüm, hepsiyle süper oldu. Resimdeki ise Flor Mar Supershine U30 üzerine sürülmüş hali.
#11 bana Zoya Faye'i hatırlattı, sıcak tonlu, soluk bir lila, içinde bol miktarda altın ışıltı var. Kırmızı, mor ve siyah üzerine çok güzel duruyor, lila fazla seçilemediği için sanki altın parçacıkları gibi gözüküyor. Ben Pastel #309 üzerine denedim.
Son olarak #09, metalik bir mavi. Diğerleri kadar hoşuma gitmese de denemek için aldım, ve Flor Mar #431 üzerine sürdüm.

Pink Wednesday: Ice Cream Pink

I'm finding it hard to concentrate right now, because one of my ears is aching badly. My ear canal is swollen and I'm treating it with antibiotics and by applying olive oil topically. This is going to be a quick post before going to bed.
I had this manicure in mind for some time now, and today I decided to do it. I started with Golden Rose Care & Strong #182 as my base coat. Then, using a fine brush, I drew the cones and finally the ice cream on top using my dotting tool. I used a variety of polishes for the ice creams; American Apparel Trenchcoat and California Trooper for the cones, Konad Pastel Purple for the ice cream, and various polishes for the sprinkles.

Şu an konsantre olmakta oldukça güçlük çekiyorum aslında, çünkü sağ kulağım ağrıyor, kendi hatam yüzünden dış kulak enfeksiyonu geçiriyorum. Bu yüzden bu yazı biraz çabuk ve detaysız olabilir, yazıp hemen yatağa ışınlanıyorum.
Bir süredir böyle dondurmalı bir manikür yapmak istiyordum, Pembe Çarşamba ile birleştireyim dedim. Tabanda Golden Rose Care & Strong #182 var, üstüne ince bir fırça ile dondurma külahları çizdim, sonra benek yapma aracı ile dondurma kısımlarını çizdim ve yine ince fırçayı kullanarak üzerine ufak şekerlemeler yaptım. Külah için American Apparel Trenchcoat ve California Trooper kullandım, Konad Pastel Purple ile dondurmayı yaptım ve şekerlemeler için değişik ojeler kullandım. Kusura bakmayın, şimdi gidip bakmaya çok üşeniyorum...

NOTD: Parrots

Hello guys =) Is it weird that I'm being inspired by SIX earrings this often? SIX accessories are my all-time favorite, followed closely by Pieces. I'm getting at least 5 pieces from SIX every month! I always find some awesome stuff whenever I visit them, plus they do some really elaborate, unique, high quality accessories for a decent price. (Accessorize, I'm looking at you!) This time, I found these awesome parrots, and I had to have them in my life. Just awesome. Look at the detail of those!


I knew I was going to turn these earrings to a manicure as soon as I had them in my hands. I used American Apparel Mount Royal, Catrice I Sea You, OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui, Essie Going Incognito and Essie Coat Azure. I outlined everything with Golden Rose nail art pen in gold. I also used orange rhinestones from Born Pretty Store for the eyes.



On the picture my pinky looks a bit blurry, it's actually the tail part of the parrots.

Herkese merhaba =) Acaba SIX küpelerinin her birinin beni manikür yapmaya teşvik etmesi normal mi? =D SIX aksesuarlarına bayılıyorum, her gittiğimde o kadar harika şeyler görüyorum ki almadan duramıyorum. Her ay ortalama 5 ürün falan alıyorum, bazen küpe, bazen broş, bazen yüzük... Hem kaliteli, hem özgün hem de detaylı takılar var, üstelik fiyatlar gerçekten makul. (Accessorize, sözüm sana!) Bu seferki gidişimde bu papağanları keşfettim ve aklım gitti. Bir saniye bile tereddüt etmeden aldım =) Baksanıza ne kadar detaylı yapmışlar.
Ve tabi ki küpelerin renklerinden esinlendim ve manikür yapmaya karar verdim. From The Vault: Snow Cap

Hello everyone! This manicure is back from summer, for some reason I never published it here, maybe I thought it was too frosty for summer. Today I saw that it was being used here without permission, under the name "Nail Polish Trend 2011". Of course I was annoyed because the picture was cropped to hide my watermark and there was no source and no credit was given, but at least I remembered that I hadn't put up this manicure here, so it's not all bad =)
I used Golden Rose Paris polish in silver. Sorry, I lost that bottle and I can't give you the number, but it's a foil-like, neutral silver and I'm sure you'll be able to spot it. The tips were freehanded with white creme polish. They remind me of caps of snow on mountains, hence the title.




It's simple but pretty, I like it =)

Sonra da unuttum, ta ki burada "2011 Oje Trendleri" adı altında kullanıldığını görene kadar. Tabi ki izin alınmadan kullanılmış, blogun ismi özenle kesilmiş ve hiçbir kaynak belirtilmemiş. Mesaj gönderdim ama faydası olur mu bilmiyorum. En azından unuttuğum bu manikürü hatırlayıp buraya koymuş oldum, %100 can sıkıcı değil yani =)
Golden Rose Paris gümüş rengi folyo görünümlü ojeyi kullanmıştım. Şişeyi kaybettiğim için numarasını size veremiyorum, ama tam bir gümüş rengi ve bu seride buna yakın renk yok, rahatlıkla gözünüze çarpacaktır. Tırnak uçlarını ise kireç beyazı oje ile boyadım. Bana dağ tepelerinde biriken karı hatırlattı beyaz kısımlar, hayal gücüm fazla çalışıyor galiba =)
Basit bir manikür ama krem beyaz ile gümüş folyo uyumlu oldu, kış için fikir arıyorsanız sade ama şık olabilir =)

NOTD: I Come Bearing Gifts!

It's 4 hours past the last day of Christmas, and here is my manicure =)
First I wanted to draw a Christmas tree on my ring finger and decorate it with various things, but then I decided that covering all my nails with gift wrappings would be a better idea. So here I present my gifts for you!


I'm going to explain all nails one-by-one, cookies for everyone who reads till the end =)


Thumb: Alix Avien #231 is the base, I stamped the design from bm20 in black, drew a dark green ribbon with acrylic paint and put a purple rhinestone in the middle.
Index: Pastel #32 is the base, I stamped the houndstooth design from bm19 with Konad Wine Red, drew a silver ribbon with Alix Avien #231 and put a light green rhinestone in the middle.
Middle: Orly Glitz & Glamour is the base, I stamped the stars design from bm20 with China Glaze 2030, drew a red ribbon with acrylic paint and put a gold rhinestone in the middle.
Ring: Finger Paints Evergreen Dream (Oh my God, gorgeous!) is the base, I stamped the stripes design from bm20 with Avon Peppermint Leaf, drew a green ribbon using acrylic paint and put a red rhinestone in the middle.
Pinky: Chanel Gondola is the base, I stamped the polka dot design from bm19 with Golden Rose Nail Art #108, drew a white ribbon with acrylic paint and put a clear rhinestone in the middle.
Phew, that was a lot of talking =) I hope you enjoyed my tiny gifts!

Yüzük parmağı: Tabanda Finger Paints Evergreen Dream var (Muhteşem bir renk.), bm20 diskindeki çizgili deseni Avon Peppermint Leaf ile damgaladım, akrilik boyayla yeşil kurdele çizdim ve ortaya kırmızı bir taş koydum.
Serçe parmak: Tabanda Chanel Gondola var, bm19 diskindeki puantiye desenini Golden Rose Nail Art #108 ile damgaladım, akrilik boyayla beyaz kurdele çizdim ve ortaya renksiz bir taş koydum.

NOTD: Another Harry Potter Manicure

Hello everyone =) Today I actually sat down and thought hard about a Harry Potter manicure. Everyone has done an amazing job with their manicures, I fell in love with Asami's manicure, I wish I was that original, and that good =) I was feeling completely blank about what to do, but then I started working, occasionally removing some nails and re-doing them. The result is not quite like what I was going for, but I guess it's not too horrible. I asked my brother if this manicure made any sense to him, and he recognized four of five designs, that's something =)


I decided to draw a famous thing from Harry Potter on each nail. I started with a black base, and used Golden Rose Nail Art #107 (silver) and #108 (gold) for the designs. On my index nail, I applied Zoya Ivanka underneath the design, for the greenish aura.


I don't know if you can recognize the design on my index nail. It's a feeble attempt at drawing the Dark Mark =) I drew a skull with a snake coming out of its mouth. I used green rhinestones for the eyes. The snake even has a tiny snake-tongue, but I'm not sure you can see it =) My middle finger is Gryffindor's Sword, with a ruby on its hilt. Ring nail is Deathly Hallows sign, and pinky is the Golden Snitch, with acrylic paint wings =) The thumb is, again, Harry's Scar; just because.


Finally, the golden ring mom bought me about 10 years ago. It's 18K gold, featuring HP logo and the Golden Snitch =) Here is a close-up:

Ne yapacağım konusunda fikrim yoktu ama sonra birşeyler yapmaya başladım, bazen sildim ve tekrar yaptım. Sonuç pek hayal ettiğim gibi olmadı, ama sanırım o kadar da korkunç değil. Kardeşime yaptığım şeylerin ona birşey ifade edip etmediğini sordum; beş şekilden dördünü tanıdı. Bu da bir şey =)
Harry Potter'dan 5 tane meşhur şey çizmeye karar verdim. Siyah zeminle başladım, desenler için Golden Rose Nail Art #107 (gümüş) ve #108 kullandım. İşaret parmağımda siyah üzerine bir kat Zoya Ivanka var, yeşilimsi ışığı vermesi için.
İşaret parmağımdaki deseni anlayabilen çıkar mı bilmiyorum. Karanlık İşaret =) Ağzından yılan çıkan bir kafatası, göz olarak da yeşil taşlar kullandım. Orta parmağımda Gryffindor'un Kılıcı var, kabzasında yakutla üstelik. Yüzük parmağımda Ölüm Yadigarları'nın simgesi var, ve serçe parmağımda Altın Snitch, beyaz akrilik boyayla yaptığım kanatlarıyla =) Baş parmağımda yine Harry'nin yara izi var, çünkü öyle istedim.
Son olarak annemin 10 yıl kadar önce aldığı altın HP yüzüğünü göstermek istedim =) Benim için çok kıymetli, bir daha asla bulamam herhalde.

From The Vault: Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak!

Dumbledore has always been my favorite hero. I must say I grew up with Dumbledore, and he taught me so many things about being unprejudiced, non-discriminating and humble. He also taught me that "it's our choices that show who we truly are, far more than our abilities." I guess everybody knows about his words at the first-year banquet: "Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak!" =) And I think they not just randomly chosen, funny words of a crackpot, old man; they have a much deeper meaning.
Nitwit: Finding it difficult to grasp something. Ravenclaw's biggest fear.
Blubber: Being not courageous/brave enough for something, bursting into tears. Gryffindor's biggest fear.
Oddment: Not fitting in, being not good enough for anything, being unworthy. Hufflepuff's biggest fear.
Tweak: Being changed, tweaked, persuaded into something they don't want to. (like being around people from Muggle families, etc.) Slytherin's biggest fear.
Here is how I interpret these words, and I'm sure someone could come up with a different explanation. But it's great that Albus Dumbledore shouts these words at the students, as if he can see through their deepest fears, and to make clear that each House has its own flaws and they're by no means better than the other. He's persuading them to let go off their fears and embrace each other, even if they're parted into four different Houses.
Enough talking =) I did this manicure the night I watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I. It was a very quick manicure, I didn't have time to do some detailed nail art, so I just portrayed the four Hogwarts Houses, and Harry's scar on my thumb.



Thumb: Freehanded with gold over black.
Index: Slytherin. Illamasqua Rampage, stamped with Golden Rose Nail Art #107 and konad m70.
Middle: Gryffindor. OPI Chick Flick Cherry, stamped with Golden Rose Nail Art #108 and bm16.
Ring: Ravenclaw. Essie Mesmerize, stamped with bronze Revell Modellbaulack and konad s06. (I don't recommend you ever using model paint, it's unhealthy and creates a mess! It was my first and last time to do that.)
Pinky: Hufflepuff. China Glaze Happy Go Lucky, stamped with konad black and bm20.
I know my pictures are never consistent. I use two different cameras, many backdrops and always the same lighting, but they come out different each time. This one is the DSLR, I love the quality of this, but it's not very color accurate and it can't do crazy macro shots.
I really want to work hard on a nice and detailed HP manicure =)

Bu resimler DSLR ile çekildi, kalitesi tabi ki dijital makinadan çok daha iyi, fakat renkleri Sanyo kadar iyi yakalayamıyor ve makro çekimi de iyi sayılmaz.
Vaktim olduğunda ciddi şekilde uğraşıp fanatizmime yakışacak bir HP manikürü yapacağım =)

NOTD: Stellare Notte

Sorry for the lack of updates lately. I feel uninspired, so I decided to give myself a little break & stop being harsh on myself. I hate those days, when none of the 450 polishes you own seems to be working out!
Today's manicure is Borghese Stellare Notte, which is a gift from my friend Elizabeth. Thank you so much for all the trouble you went through while collecting all the things I wanted from the States, you made me so happy =)
Borghese Stellare Notte is a duochrome metallic polish. It looks like oil slick in the bottle, but what transfers on the nail is a strong purple & teal duochrome. In most lights I saw blue and teal, but in my lightbox I could only capture the purple, sorry for that. My pictures are totally not doing any justice to this duochrome goodness, that's why I will dedicate another post to Stellare Notte in the future.



The design is from plate bm03, and the stamping polish is Golden Rose Nail Art #107. I also used lilac rhinestones.
I'm sorry this post is really short, it's because I have a headache. But I have very nice polishes to show you, stay tuned =)

Son günlerde biraz ihmal ettim burayı, farkındayım. Biraz ilham gerekiyor belki de. 450 tane ojem var ama öyle bir gün oluyor ki, bir şekilde sürdüğüm ojeyi yakıştıramıyorum ya da direk beceremiyorum =) Bu yüzden bir süre kendime acımasız davrranmamaya, mükemmeliyetçi olmamaya karar verdim.
Borghese Stellare Notte, bana arkadaşım Elizabeth'in hediyesi. Şişede sanki suyun üzerindeki petrol tabakası gibi, gökkuşağının tüm renkleri gözüküyor neredeyse. Tırnakta ise, mor/petrol mavisi arası duran, yanardöner, metalik bir oje. Bu ojenin internette gördüğüm çoğu resminde petrol mavisi baskın, ben de tırnakta çoğunlukta o rengi gördüm ama ne hikmetse kameramla sadece mor halini yakalayabildim.

NOTD: Going Indigo

Rimmel Blue My Mind is the perfect indigo polish. The consistency is between jelly and cream, it's opaque in two coats and dries very fast and glossy. The color is exactly like the description of Indigo, a cross between blue and purple.
My new camera is very good with problem colors. As you know, most cameras can't truly capture colors which are a cross between blue/green, blue/purple and red/pink. Most of the time, the pictures come out closer to the cooler one of those both colors. For example China Glaze Four Leaf Clover is a very bright Kelly green, but most pictures suggest it's a bright turquoise. The camera I'm using can capture the color of Four Leaf Clover perfectly, but it still fails to capture the true indigo. I think it's the most problematic shade to capture with a camera =) The color is tweaked a bit to resemble how it looks IRL.




The pattern is from disk bm16, and the stamping polish is Golden Rose Nail Art #107. That nail art polish is such an opaque, shiny, foily silver; never had a silver stamping polish that looks so mirror-like! It's amazing, if you can find this line, don't skip on the metallic shades. Other than silver there is a gold, bronze and a brown. They all work great with konad.

Rimmel Blue My Mind, jel ve krem arasında yapıya sahip bir oje. Rengi indigo, yani çivit mavisi. İki katta opak oldu ve çok çabuk kurudu.
Kameralar genellikle mavi/yeşil, mavi/mor, kırmızı/pembe arasındaki geçiş renklerini iyi yakalayamıyor. Bu renklerden soğuk olanına dönük çıkıyor resimlerde renkler. Benim kameram genellikle yeşilleri, mercan renklerini çok iyi yakalıyor ama bu renkte sınıfta kaldı =) Her kamera gibi maviye dönük çıktı resimlerde, ben de gerçek haline benzesin diye biraz oynadım rengiyle.
Desen bm16 diskinden, damga için Golden Rose Nail Art #107 ojesini kullandım. Kullandığım en ayna gibi metalik oje herhalde. İnanılmaz opak bir oje ve konad'la çok rahat kullanılır. Alix Avien de buna benzer bir oje çıkarmış, daha rastlamadım ama. Bu seriyi görürseniz, simli hariç bütün hepsiyle konad yapılıyor, özellikle metalik olanlarla. Bu hariç altın, bronz ve kahverengi var, ben hepsini denedim, konad ile çok uyumlular.

NOTD: Whimsical

Today's mani was inspired by this one. She has done a lovely combination with nude, pink and salmon. I made my own version, using Golden Rose Paris #32 (index), Golden Rose Care & Strong #182 (thumb & pinky), Essie Van D'Go (ring) and China Glaze Spellbound (middle). I used the same colors on my right hand, too, only in different order. Left thumbnail was stamped in white using the ribbon design from m59. Left ring and right middle nails were stamped in white using the polka dot design from bm19.

Not exactly "all pink". There is silver and orange and lilac and peach, but the cremes all lean towards pink (Van D'Go is actually pink in the bottle, only turns peach after applying topcoat) and I think that they look nice together.

Bugünün manikürü için buradan esinlendim. Benim versiyonumda, soldan sağa Golden Rose Care & Strong #182, Essie Van D'Go, China Glaze Spellbound ve Golden Rose Paris #32 var. Başparmağımdaki desen m59 diskinden, yüzük parmağımdaki ise bm19 diskinden. Sağ elimde de aynı renkleri sırayı değiştirerek kullandım.
Renklerin hiçbiri tam olarak pembe olmasa bile, hepsi pembeye dönük renkler. Mesela lila aslında pembeye dönük, Van D'Go ise zaten şişede pembe iken, cila sürünce şeftali rengine dönüşüyor. Bence birarada güzel duruyorlar =)

Hello Everyone =) Today I wanted to share what's in my make-up bag. I have a decent stash of make-up products, I got them all before my nail polish addiction suddenly came to life last year. But I always have my small make-up bag with me, and regarding the fact I can't carry around too many things, I only have some select items inside. Here is how my make-up bag looks like:


I got this at Claire's for 10$, I think. But it was about two years ago. I love it, because it can hold so many things!


This is how it looks inside, it has a small mirror and cute pink stars on black. =)


Let me start with the eye stuff.
From Top to Bottom: Rimmel London Sexy Curves Mascara, MAC Penulitmate Eye Liner in Rapidblack, #22 Brush by Sephora, Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils in Lust and Zero.


T-B: MAC Eye Shadow Suite in Team Violets, Urban Decay E/S in Goddess, Too Faced E/S Duo in Skinny Dip, Too Faced Shadow Insurance.


Lancome Color Focus Palette in L'amante du Matin, and Inglot lash curler. I love the packaging of the Lancome =)


Finally, lip and cheek stuff.
T-B: Guerlain brush, Golden Rose Ceramic polish in #135, (which I only got today and stuffed inside my make-up bag to avoid breakage), Bare Escentuals Buxom Lips gloss in Bambi, Stila Convertible Lip&Cheek Color in Peony, Inglot Pressed Powder.

That's a lot of stuff for a small bag, don't you think? =)
