Since I'm not overflowing with creative juices these days, I decided to challenge myself with weekly themes. Some of these ideas are of my own and some are recreations of great ideas seen on other blogs. I won't be doing themes every week, just when I'm planning on doing manicures that can be grouped together in a theme. Lately I was thinking about many black manicures, so the first theme is going to be "black".
This is one of the manicures that made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. It's by Konad & Me. It's basically a simple manicure with black tips and silver polka dots on top. I love how simple, yet edgy it looks! So I gave it a try.
I started with two coats of sheer nude polish, basically any sheer nude will do. Then I freehanded the tips using a local brand black polish. Finally I stamped the dots from m45 in silver on top.
Yesterday I gave m19 several tries, and I'm proud to say that there is progress =)
This is such a cute look!

ReplyDeleteIt's super beautiful (I love that dotted French Konad thing). You have a doll skin. Seriously. And perfect nails too.
ReplyDeleteAww Nathalie, you're always so charmant... <3
ReplyDeleteDo french people really do french manicures the most? Always wondered that =)
I like this, kind of Punk Pin-up. :) I can see it in lots of different colors too. How do you get the stamp lined up? What techniques do you use? Help us newbies out?
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute!
ReplyDeleteThank you gildedangel =)
ReplyDeleteWell, Liz, after the french tips, I took my double ended stamper, which is important because of the dents on the sides. They help me to align the stamp horizontally. Afterwards I just slowly rolled the image on my finger, trying to follow the black tip. Aligning the stamp on the guides greatly helps =) I also don't press my finger on a surface and stamp when I do french tips, instead I lift my finger for a better control. Hope this was a bit helpful! I'll try to post a guide soon...
Very Very Very nice! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, sonidlo! ;)
ReplyDeleteI am in loooooooove with those Polka Dots! This looks incredibly sweet! I will deinitely try something similar, but doing a classic french mani with white tips and silver dots....Ah I can't wait! :-)

ReplyDeletevery pretty!! perfect nails!!!
ReplyDeletethanks, serena =)
ReplyDeleteTo respond your question, Deniz... most of French girls I've known simply wear a sheer (or more commonly nothing on their nails). I've seen more clean natural nails (let's say with just 2 coats of Essie Mademoiselle) than full French manicures. :)
ReplyDeletenathalie, thank you for the info =))) good choice, but I'm not very good with sheers only =)
ReplyDeleteI love this french design! Beautiful!
ReplyDeletevery beautiful and elegant!
ReplyDeleteVery nice, this would be cute with spring colors, like an easter egg!
