NOTD: Houndstooth Gift Wrapping Paper and Get To Know You Tag

A few days ago I was trying to create a sheer blush using a very pale jelly polish and some drops of red. That's when I accidentaly poured 1/4 bottle of red into the pale polish, and I had this medium, bright jelly pink. Yesterday I put it on, it looked very cool and squishy, but I'm not very fond of medium pinks, and I topped it with Inglot 202 flakes. Today I stamped it with m63 and black polish, but my black is dying and although I diluted it a bit with polish thinner, it's a sticky mess and though to work with. My Mavadry is on its last drops, and it smeared the konad like crazy. Finally I put on some white bows to cover the Konad failures, which got smeared, too. That's why the far shot =)

See the flakies? This mani actually looks cool from a distance. I'd like to repeat it when I have a new black & white, and with another base color.

I can hardly tolerate konad mistakes on myself. I'm kinda OCD =)

  4. Hey, Trincess! I'm gonna be honest - I don't fancy this manicure to much. =) I mean: your Konading skills are wicked, but that bow is just to much for me. =))
That pink looks awesome, by the way.
Is Ayran a brand name or the name of the drink? Do you buy it or make it yourself? I'd love to get a recipe of any turkish sweet drink/food. =)

  5. Thanks for being honest, Sasha =) actually I disliked this mani from the beginning, too. The bows were mainly done to hide the smeared parts, but they got smeared, too! =D I'm going to get a new topcoat tomorrow. These days I feel really down, maybe I should take some time from manicures, the college is hard on me =)
Ayran is the name of the drink, but it's not sweet. It's made of yoghurt, water and a pinch of salt, you shake them well and voila =D It gets along really well with dishes of meat, (like kebabs) but most of the Europeans find the thought a bit unappealing, I guess it's a thing of taste habits =D But you should try it once along with roasted meat or maybe sandwiches or hamburgers or whatever such thing you like!

  9. Oooh I like the flakes under the houndstooth. It's like hidden treasure! Gold and pink always look great together!

P.S. I CAN'T STAND Konad mistakes either! I had a great manicure idea the other night but my execution was awful! I was completely done, held up my nails to examine them, saw how bad they looked, and then removed everything and went to bed without polish! I guess I was just too tired!

  10. Thriszha, you're right, the Inglot polishes are runny and brush-strokey, and shimmery most of the time, no decent cremes or glitter, which I'd prefer... And they are expensive here, too! I'd be happy if you'd link back to your own mani!
PH, thank you =) I like having flakies underneath the Konad, but my topcoat was a gloopy mess and ruined the mani =) I do that, too! Yesterday I had another konad but I liked none of the pictures, so I'm not putting that up ;)
