From The Vault: Stripes

One of my teeth is being a bi*ch since yesterday. I'm not beside myself with pain, but I'm really, really annoyed. And my dentist is really busy this week. The ache is really annoying that I can't find the power to try and understand my camera a bit more. The picture quality is splendid, yet sometimes the unfocused areas come out a bit grainy. Maybe I'll use two cameras from now on, Pentax for the regular shots and Sanyo for the macro shots. Haven't decided yet.
Nothing exciting today, just a picture from a few days ago, when I tried out my new Bundle Monster plates. Base is Flor Mar Supershine #14, the stripe pattern is from plate bm20, and stamping polish is Flor Mar #112.


As you've probably heard before, the Bundle Monster full images are even smaller than the konad ones. If you wanna cover your thumb, you will have to double stamp. I rather center the image and leave the sides gappy. It doesn't bother me that much.

Dünden beri dişim sızlayıp duruyor. Acıdan kendimden geçecek kadar değil ama yine de çok can sıkıcı bir durum. Üstelik diş doktorum bu hafta çok meşgul. Bir yandan kameramın derdini anlamaya çalışıyorum. Harika resimler çekiyor ama, bazen odak noktasının dışındaki alanlarda gürültü oluşuyor. Belki bundan sonra iki kamera kullanırım çekimler için, henüz karar vermedim.
Birkaç gün önce yeni Bundle Monster disklerimden birini denedim, bugün onun resmini koymakla yetiniyorum. Tabanda Flor Mar Supershine #14, desen yaparken Flor Mar #112, disk olarak da bm20 kullandım.
Belki duymuşsunuzdur, Bundle Monster disklerinde tırnağı kaplayan desenler biraz küçük. Özellikle baş parmağa desenin yetmesi imkansız gibi birşey. Tabi yan yana da basabilirsiniz, ama ben ortalayıp bir kere basıyorum. Yanlarında boşluk kalması çok rahatsız etmiyor ortaladıktan sonra.

NOTD: Rimmel London Best In Show

Lastly, here is Rimmel London Best In Show. I thought this one would be my favorite based on what I saw in the bottle, but on the nail it falls a bit flat. Best In Show is a Jazzberry Jam jelly with fuchsia shimmer. Although it sounds mouthwatering, once on the nail the shimmer is barely visible. And how should I put it? It's not deep at all. The color is really nice and appropriate for fall, though. Here is a close-up of the bottle:


Although my camera has superb macro capabilities, it was hard to capture the shimmer, because like I said, it looks flat once on the nail. The application was fine, it was opaque in three coats, and dried a bit slower than average.

Son olarak Rimmel London Best In Show'u göstereceğim. Şişesine bakılırsa koleksiyonun en harika ojesi bu olmalıyı, fakat sürdükten sonra biraz hayal kırıklığına uğradım. O derinlik tırnakta tamamen kayboluyor. Gerçi sonbahar için oldukça uygun bir renk.
Kameramın makro resim çekme özelliği çok iyi olsa da, bu ojenin ışıltısını yakalamakta zorlandım çünkü bir şekilde sönük kalıyor ve ışıltılar belirgin değil. Sürülüşü iyiydi, üç katta opak oldu ve biraz yavaş kurudu.
Belki başka bir renk üzerinde daha güzel durabilir. Denemek lazım.

NOTD: Orly Meet Me Under The Mistletoe

Hello everyone =) I'm sorry for the lack of updates last week. I was kinda too busy to attend my blog, and I had the same polish for about 4 days. It even chipped on me, which rarely happens because I change my polish so often =)
Anyway, I received a package from USA with the help of my dear friend, Liz. Living in Turkey, it's hard for me to get my hands on polishes I want, so it's wonderful to have a good friend living in the States =)
I will show you what I got in the following days, I don't want to do a big haul post right now. But here is a sneak peek of the Orly Cosmics I've got:



I skipped Halley's Comet, because I already have Zoya Charla. I would love to own the whole collection, but I think it was really unnecessary this time with me owning Charla. (You can spot Charla on the leftmost spot of the wheel.)
You will see the Cosmics and many more beautiful stuff in the following weeks =)
Today I'm wearing Orly Meet Me Under The Mistletoe, which is also a part of my last haul. MMUtM is a teal jelly chocked with emerald green flecks. Overall it's a pine green glass flecked polish. It looks like a green-to-blue duochrome in the bottle that doesn't fully transfer on the nails, just like Zoya Sparkle polishes from the past summer.

I've been trying to take pictures with my Sanyo Xacti Full-HD Dual Cam, since I've discovered that the super macro mode is amazing. It really shows details up to the tiniest glass fleck. I just need to get used to it's settings.



A quick comparison of Zoya Ivanka and Orly Meet Me Under The Mistletoe:


As you can see, Ivanka on the left is lighter, more saturated and more yellow-based. The base is an emerald green, and the flecks are bright green. MMUtM has a teal base and emerald green flecks, the overall look is darker and less saturated.

Herkese merhaba =) Geçen hafta blogu pek güncelleyemedim, üzgünüm. Bir ojenin 4 gün elimde kaldığını, üstelik soyulduğunu söylersem, ne kadar meşgul olduğumu anlarsınız.
ABD'den bir ay önce verdiğim siparişler dün elime ulaştı. İstediğim siparişleri bir araya toplayıp bana gönderen bir arkadaşım olması harika bir şey =) Şu an aldıklarımın hepsini biraraya toplayıp gösterecek kadar enerjik hissetmiyorum, onun yerine önümüzdeki günlerde tırnaklarımda göreceğiniz Orly Cosmic koleksiyonuna kısaca göz atabilirsiniz.
Bu koleksiyondan bir tek Halley's Comet'i almadım, çünkü onun ikizi olan Zoya Charla bende mevcut. Göz göre göre aynısını almak saçma olur diye düşündüm. Tırnak çemberi üzerinde en solda Charla'yı görebilirsiniz.
Bugün tırnaklarımda yine yeni aldığım ojelerden Orly Meet Me Under The Mistletoe var. Baz olarak petrol yeşili, ama içi zümrüt yeşili ışıltılarla dolu olduğu için genel görünüm koyu bir çam yeşili oluyor. Yapı olarak geçtiğimiz yazdan Zoya Sparkle koleksiyonuna inanılmaz benziyor.
Bu arada süper makro çekim özelliğini keşfettiğimden beri Sanyo Xacti Full-HD Dual kameramla çekim yapıyorum. Çok detaylı resimler çekebilen bir kamera, sadece bazı ayarlarına biraz daha alışmam gerekiyor.
Bu arada gördüğünüz gibi Zoya Ivanka ve Orly Meet Me Under The Mistletoe birbirinden farklı, solda Ivanka daha açık, daha canlı ve daha sarıya dönük bir yeşilken, MMUtM daha koyu, soluk ve maviye dönük.

NOTD: Rimmel London Night Flight

This might just be the star of the show. Night Flight is a dark, dark indigo creme. Actually it has a certain warmness, but it's very dark and a bit desaturated, and that makes it look cool.



It reminds me of the color of ink. I think it's a much darker and muted version of Dark Tyrian Purple. Unfortunately, I can't always find dead-on color names on Wikipedia, but I try to stay true to the hue.
The formula was consistent. I used 3 coats for this manicure. Dried fast and glossy.



I'm not much into konading these days, so I used purple/green flowers from the Essence Glitter Mix wheel to bling it up a bit. I think it turned out nicely. This might be one of my favorite manicures of all time.

Bu oje, bu serinin starı olabilir bence. Night Flight, çok çok koyu bir mor. Aslında biraz sıcak tonlu sayılabilir ama çok koyu ve biraz da soluk olduğu için soğuk gibi görünüyor gözüme. Bana mürekkep rengini çağrıştırdı.
Formülü diğer Rimmel ojeler gibiydi. 3 kat sürdüm, çabuk ve ıslak görünümlü olarak kurudu.
Bu günlerde konad'la fazla aram yok, bu yüzden Essence marka pulların mor/yeşil çiçek şeklinde olanlarından kullandım. Bence güzel oldu. Bu, bugüne kadar yaptığım manikürler arasında en çok beğendiklerimden biri sanırım.

NOTD: Rimmel London Trend Spotting

Another Rimmel London polish made of awesome. I don't know what's wrong with me, but I'm so much into seasonal colors lately. And I don't even believe in wearing season-coordinated polishes!


Trend Spotting is a vampy purple with strong red undertones. It can be described as a darker version of Tyrian Purple. It contains a very, very subtle tonal shimmer, which makes this polish interesting. The application was smooth as butter, no cleanup was needed. This is 3 coats, by the way.




I freaking love Rimmel polishes. I think one lucky follower will receive the complete set as a part of the giveaway price, when I reach 1000 followers =)

İşte harika bir Rimmel London ojesi daha. Bilmiyorum bana ne oluyor ama bu aralar sonbahar renklerine takmış durumdayım. Ki mevsimlere göre oje sürmek falan hiç adetim değildir =)
Trend Spotting, kırmızıya dönük, vamp bir mor. Ve aynı tonlarda, hafif bir sedef içeriyor fakat çoğu ışıkta krem yapıda gibi gözüküyor. Ayrıca bu ışıltının ojeyi benzerlerinden farklı kıldığını söyleyebilirim. Sürümü çok kolaydı, hiç temizlik gerektirmedi. Bu arada, bu sürdüğüm 3 kat.
Rimmel ojelerine bayılıyorum. Sanırım bir şanslı izleyici bu serinin tamamını ödül olarak kazanacak, üstelik ödülün hepsi bu kadar da değil. Ama 1000 izleyiciye ulaştığım zaman =)

Haul: Fashion Night Out at Essie & NOTD: Playa Del Platinum

Hey guys =) At Fashion Night Out two nights ago, I was in front of the Essie booth with Nemo Latte. We got our nails did and I got two polishes, Sew Psyched and Playa Del Platinum. I've really been into neutrals lately. Also, we got served with delicious cupcakes and white chocolate brownies. It was fun to be there.


Here are our hands together. My nails were painted with Essie In Stitches, and her nails were painted with Midnight Cami with Matte About You on top.

Then I was lucky to find Essie Greenport and Essie Sag Harbor online. Here are all my new Essie polishes together:


I'm soo happy for all of them. I've been wanting Playa Del Platinum and Sag Harbor for a long time, and Sew Psyched is truly gorgeous. Greenport is another nice add to my aqua collection =)
Today I have Playa Del Platinum on my nails. Playa Del Platinum is a beige-grey with a hint of green.
The closest shade I could find was Pastel Grey. The formula was nice, and dried to a glossy finish. This is three coats.



I think this is a lovely color, very soft and wearable, yet edgy.
Wait for my other Essie swatches =)

İki gece önce Nemo Latte ile Bread & Butter'ın önünde, Essie ile birlikteydik. Tırnaklarımıza oje sürdürdük ve ben istediğim iki tane ojeyi aldım, Sew Psyched ve Playa Del Platinum. Son zamanlarda nötr renklere sarmış durumdayım zaten. Bu arada bol bol cupcake ve beyaz çikolatalı brownie yedik. Orada bulunmak gerçekten güzeldi.
Benim tırnaklarımda Essie In Stitches, Nemo'nun tırnaklarında ise Midnight Cami üzerine Matte About You var.
Daha sonra, çok şanslı bir şekilde gittigidiyor'da Essie Greenport ve Essie Sag Harbor ojelerini buldum. Yeni Essie ojelerimle çok mutluyum. Playa Del Platinum ve Sag Harbor'u uzun zamandır istiyordum, Greenport ve Sew Psyched de çok güzel renkler.
Bugün tırnaklarımda Essie Playa Del Platinum var. Bu, içinde çok hafif yeşil barındıran, gri-bej arası bir renk. Formülü güzel ve ıslak görünümlü bir bitişe sahip. Bu gördüğünüz üç kat. Bence çok güzel bir renk, hem günlük kullanıma uygun, hem de çok şık duruyor.

From The Vault: Deep Blue-Green

Remember MAC's Deep Blue-Green pigment from the Hello Kitty collection? Once I poured some in black polish, then totally forgot about it. A few days ago I found that bottle while cleaning up. The pigment had already settled and I couldn't believe how great it looked as a polish. See for yourself:


This one was taken with flash to show the pigment.
I did some konad using She #521 and plate s06.



I at Fashion Night Out tonight, and Essie people did my nails. I also got two Essie polishes. I'm going to do a post about it tomorrow =)

MAC'in Hello Kitty koleksiyonundan Deep Blue-Green pigmenti hatırlayan var mı? Bir keresinde o pigmentten bir miktarını siyah bir ojenin icine dokup sonra şişeyi bir kenara koymuştum. Geçen gün ojelerimi düzenlerken o şişeyi buldum. Pigment zamanla ojenin içine tamamen karışmış. Gözlerime inanamadım, gerçekten harika bir oje olmuş, istesem böyle bir renk bulamazdım herhalde.
Bu arada bu gece Fashion Night Out dolayısıyla Essie'deyik Nemo Latte ile ben. Orada bize oje sürdüler ve ben iki tane oje aldım. Bu konuyla ilgili yazımı yarın okuyabilirsiniz =)

NOTD: Rimmel London Beige Babe

Hey guys =) This shade just may be my favorite from the new Rimmels, and when I think about I was so hesitant to buy it! But I'm so glad I did. I was starting to grow bored of all those taupes, then the brands decided to mix in some different colors! I adore Chanel Khakis polishes, and I also love the new purple-taupes (Paradoxal, Purple Grey) This one is a very nice taupe, leaning rose. It's visibly different than the other taupes we've seen last year (YDKJ, Prince Charming, etc.), they all look on the cool side when compared to this one.


I think this might be defined as Rose Taupe. The consistency was just perfect. The polish applied itself, as I stood there and watched. LOL. The only drawback was the minimal dragging. The opacity was great in two coats, but I did three to cover the slightly dragged areas. By the way, this is the first wide brush I don't hate. It's not ginormous like Sally Hansen Salon brushes, yet shaped the same way to fit the cuticle perfectly. I didn't clean up after application, see below:


I really really love this. Perfect for fall.

Selam =) Yeni aldığım Rimmel ojeler arasında belki en sevdiğim renk, üstelik sırf almış olmak için aldığımı düşünecek olursak! Yeterince gri-kahve ojem olduğu için almakta çekimser kalmıştım, ama çok iyi yapmışım. Gri-kahveler tam baymak üzereyken, bu sene içine başka tonlar karıştırmaya karar verdi oje firmaları. Favorilerim mor karıştırılmış gri-kahve (Paradoxal, Purple Grey) ve Chanel Khakis ojeler. Özellikle Chanel Khaki Brun ve Chanel Khaki Rose çok hoşuma gitti. İşte bu renk de geçen yıl boyunca gördüğümüz gri-kahvelerden farklı, daha çok gül rengine kaçıyor ve diğerleri bunun yanında soğuk tonlu duruyor.
Bu arada ojenin yapısı tek kelimeyle muhteşem, üstelik geniş fırçalı olmasına rağmen fırçasını çok beğendim, tırnak etinın şekliyle uyum sağlıyor. Sürdükten sonra tırnak diplerimi asetonla biraz temizlerim genelde, ama bu sefer hiç gerek olmadı. Tek kötü yanı sürülürken az miktarda sürüklenmesi, bu yüzden üç kat sürmek zorunda kaldım, yoksa iki katta opak oluyor.
Gelecek yazıda görüşmek üzere. Belki de bu akşam. ;)

NOTD: Paradoxal - As close as it gets!

100 More Followers = Giveaway!!!

Like I mentioned before, I think this polish is as close as it gets near Paradoxal at the moment. I'm introducing you: Sevilla #144.
The base is a purple-leaning taupe, and it contains hidden violet shimmer, which is only truly visible under strong light. Sadly I don't have the real Paradoxal swatched to compare, but trust me when I say they're as close as China Glaze Zombie Zest and Orly It's Not Rocket Science. Only very minor differences.

The thing that scares me is that I don't know if I still feel the urge to splurge for Paradoxal or not. Even when nobody in their right mind can possibly spot a difference. 99% of the people I'll possibly see any day from now on probably don't even have an idea what Paradoxal is.

Herhalde şu an piyasada bulunan en iyi Paradoxal alternatifi bu oje. Sevilla #144, tıpkı Paradoxal gibi mora yakın bir gri-kahve, ve içinde mor ışıltılar var. Bu ışıltılar güçlü bir ışık altında kendini gösteriyor ama çoğunlukla belirgin değil. İkisini Sevil'de yan yana sürüp bakmıştım, çok çok yakınlar. Aralarında oje ayırt etmeye alışmamış bir gözün hayatta farkedemeyeceği çok ufak farklar var sadece. Mesela Paradoxal çok azıcık daha koyu.
Beni asıl korkutan, hala Paradoxal'a para bayılma konusunda kararsız olmam. Sanki yeniden stokta görsem kaçırmayacakmışım gibi bir his var içimde, üstelik bu derece yakın bir alternatifi elimdeyken. Büyük ihtimalle kimse aradaki farkı bile anlayamayacakken. Sokakta rastlayabileceğim insanların yüzde 99'u Paradoxal nedir bilmeyecekken. =)

Haul: This and That =) & NOTD

Hello guys, I'm finally back! I can't tell how much I missed my blog, with all my beautiful friends =D I tried to go online as often as I could, but there is still so much to catch up on!
Meanwhile, I got my hands on some nice stuff. First, I'm going to show you the Rimmel London polishes I got.


From Left to Right: Night Flight, Trend Spotting, Best In Show, Reality Chic, Beige Babe.
Only skipped one color, which didn't appeal to me at all. Beige Babe is the warmest taupe I own. Night Flight is a very, very, very dark purple, and Best In Show is just gorgeous and the most unique from the bunch. Ain't those polishes just perfect for fall?
Then I ran around looking for Chanel Paradoxal. When I asked a few weeks ago, a store clerk said that the Chanel Fall collection will arrive in September. But now I'm learning that it has already arrived in August. And Paradoxal is sold out everywhere. I was getting crazy, but then I found this babe!
Take a look, ladies, I'm showing you the first true Paradoxal dupe to be sold =) It's by Sevilla, a local brand. Sevilla just loves to copy Chanel polishes. First they did Particuliere, and now they did Paradoxal! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw them side by side on my nail, they are dupes! The only difference I spotted is that the base color of Sevilla is a teeny tiny bit lighter, and the shimmer is more prominent on the nail, which is a good thing =) But the difference is almost non-existent, even under strong light, so there is no reason not to call this a dupe.


I got two bottles of it for $9 =) And they are 14 ml together, so WIN!
The other Sevilla is a beautiful dove grey with a hint of lavender.
Finally, I got my hands on two Catrice and some Essence nail art stuff, with help of Jeanette =) I love the Essence glitter, they are lovely! And how adorable is Fimo fruit!


Catrice I Sea You and Catrice Sold Out Forever. Well, it's my lucky inexpensive-chanel-duping day, I guess. =D

Finally, I have Rimmel London Reality Chic for you. It's a beautiful reddish brown, or should I say brownish red? To me it looks darker than Zoya Cola and OPI I'm Suzi and I'm a Chocoholic, but it's along the same line. Sorry, I can't think of a more suitable color from the past because I don't really invest in these colors. This one might be called Falu Red, I guess. =)

Merhaba arkadaşlar, sonunda tatilden döndüm =) Hepinizi çok özledim! Olabildiğince sık internete girmeye çalışsam da, evim gibi olmadı işte. Bu arada, yeni ojeler aldım, hepsini göstereceğim =)
Öncelikle Rimmel London'un yeni çıkan ojelerini aldım. Bunları Watsons mağazalarında bulabilirsiniz, özellikle Best In Show mükemmel. Bu koleksiyon sonbahar için çok uygun.
Sonra Chanel Paradoxal'ı aramaya başladım. Hiçbir yerde kalmamış. Sözde henüz Türkiye'ye gelmemişti, ama başka bir yerde geleli bir buçuk ay olduğunu söylediler. Neyse, ben böyle ararken Sevil'e girdim ve muhteşem bir sürprizle karşılaştım. Sevilla, Paradoxal'ın aynısını yapmış! Oje no'su 144, lütfen gidin ve alın =) Sonra bana teşekkür edin =) Ben iki tane aldım, 14 lira verdim. Normalde Chanel 56 lira. =D Bir de çok güzel gri bir ojesini aldım. Ama bu oje Claire's de varmış, hem de yarı fiyatına. Haberiniz olsun.
Bir de Almanya'dan arkadaşım Jeanette bana ilk Catrice ojelerimi yolladı. Açık yeşil olan başka bir meşhur Chanel ojesinin aynısı. Yani Jade'in. Bugünü Chanel'i ucuza kapatma günü ilan ediyorum =)
Son olarak, tırnağımda yeni aldığım Rimmel London Reality Chic var. Bu renk, kırmızıya kaçan kahverengi, ya da kahveye kaçan kırmızı. Biraz koyu bir renk, ama sonbahar için çok uygun. Ben bu tip renkleri pek almam, ama bu seri çok hoşuma gitti, ve bu renk de bir istisna değil.
Döndüğüme çok seviniyorum, hepinize iyi geceler diliyorum =)
