Review: Nfu-Oh #65, New Formula

Hello everyone =) About a month ago, my friend Zuzu, who was in the US at that time, helped me to get my hands on 4 Nfu-Oh holos. I only got 62, 64, 65 and 66, because 61 and 63 have been out of stock at the moment.
I was so excited for these, but while I was waiting for them to arrive, I read about them being less holo because of the new formula. I guess this is valid for every Nfu-Oh holo bought from Fabulous Street after January or so. They're not exactly duds like CC Revvvolution or Wild At Heart, but they're significantly less holographic then they were before. It's apparent from the bottle. The old formula showed holographic effect from the outside, but this one looks like a dull holo particle soup. Let the pictures speak for themselves:

Nfu-Oh #65, 2 Coats

Please ignore the fact my Sanyo loves to make the skin look overly saturated and two toned. These were the strongest photos I could capture of #65. It's still a perfectly linear, strong, amazing holo; but if you know the real deal, this is disappointing. Here is how it should look like:

Picture is courtesy of Lextard. While the new formula is still strong and linear, it's not the magical holo it was once. The old one seems to have bigger holo particles, something like an improved linear with some China Glaze Kaleidoscope goodness mixed in, without toning down the holographic effect. But I should have known: Best holo ever, in six colors, still available and not ridiculously expensive at all was too good to last.
I will still wear these, although I hate, hate the formula. It's gooey, dragging, self destroying, chiptastic, unforgiving... But once you get the hang of it, it's manageable. I suggest you to do a holo sandwich, with a coat of quick-dry topcoat between two coats, to prevent the first day chipping.
I hope this review was helpful. I wish Nfu-Oh corrected the formula as soon as possible, I would still get every color if they did. But I'm not very impressed by these. I'd prefer my OMG polishes over these any day.

Güneşte böyle olmuyor valla =P Bunlar, Nfu-Oh #65'in en iyi yakalayabildiğim resimleri. Yine lineer, yine güçlü ama; eski halini bilince inanılmaz hayal kırıklığına uğruyorsunuz. Nasıl gözükmesi gerektiğini 3. resimde görebilirsiniz.
Resim Lextard'a ait.

  8. gözlerim kalp kalp oldu şu an. rengin, parlaklığın, holo'luğun güzelliğine bak.

  15. I didn't know they changed the formula. Lucky me I have the old ones!
When you do a sandwich, would you reaply the aqua base again before a second coat of the holo polish??

  16. @denizye hahaha hey Allahım ya =D
@Beauty Addict I heard that if you use Aqua Base, you won't be needing topcoat because it prevents chipping =)
@Dhini I just wish it was the miraculous polish before... =/

  18. I really don't see much of a difference. I wish people wouldn't buy them only to complain about them. Let others who really want them get them!
